AN UNEASY MARCH- marked "Edgy, restless"- is a tongue-in-cheek march for people who are not sure where they're going, why they're going, or what they're going to do when they get there.
This work-- in the New Orleans brass band, second line tradition-- is similar in style to the composer's J'ai été au bal, but not as long or as difficult.
The work is based on three 17th Century German chorales.
The title AMBER SKY was suggested by the sometimes subtle, sometimes dramatic sunsets visible from my studio windows. I attempted to depict both types in this lyrical, elegiac work.
